The Train Doors Opened and It was Revealed to Me

do you believe in god? Yes, I believe in God. do you think that people who don’t believe in god go to hell? I think you have to believe that, if you believe in God. what’s it like in hell? The opposite of Heaven, I guess. what’s heaven like? Well, it’s … close to God. so hell is far away from god? Hell is the absence of God. what’s the punishment? No punishment. no lakes of fire and brimstone? no torture? Only a stretching out on the rack of life that we now know. so if you don’t believe in god when you’re alive …? You stay apart from God when you are dead. that’s all? That’s enough, isn’t it? But then the train doors closed and I realised I had been travelling in the wrong direction.
