In lecture halls, students
take angry notes (the writing is furious,
I mean). Pens and brains are baffled
by the complex grammar – insertions,
additions – and asyntactical faces
throw question marks at the lectern.

But students, young ones,
be patient with the greybeards:
there is
after all
so much more to be said.
