My work as a “critic-at-large” – theatre, literature and fine arts reviews, opinion pieces and the like – has appeared in The Weekender and various other newspapers (including The Sunday Independent, The Mail & Guardian and The Sunday Times). I was given the English Academy of Southern Africa's Thomas Pringle Award for a portfolio of reviews published in 2007.

I also write regularly for The Weekender's "food and travel" pages and have contributed travel articles to magazines such as Sawubona, Travel Ideas, Diversions and Mango Juice, as well as to the website iafrica.com.
