My work as a “critic-at-large” – theatre, literature and fine arts reviews, opinion pieces and the like – has appeared in various newspapers: The Weekender (a Business Day publication), The Sunday Independent, The Mail & Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Cape Times.

I was recently given the English Academy of Southern Africa's Thomas Pringle Award for a portfolio of reviews published in "The Weekend Review" (The Weekender) in 2007.

I write regularly for The Weekender's "Food and Travel Journal" and have also contributed travel articles to The Weekend Argus newspaper, magazines such as Travel Ideas, Diversions and Mango Juice, and the website iafrica.com.
